Summary
Dante is more than used to dealing with sticky situations during jobs. Sometimes, however, the universe just seems to want to crush his spirits specifically. Or his spine, like in this case.
Ah, well. What can you do about it?
Now, if only he could get rid of all this stone crushing him it would be great.

Summary
His eyes hurt, dry and heavy-lidded. He had been asleep for so long…Why had he been sleeping here in the first place?
…
No, he hadn't been asleep. It hadn't been that. Something else. Something important.
Sparda wakes up from his unwilling slumber and comes back to a risen Temen-ni-gru, compromised seal, and his children in the midst of things.
He doesn't know the full situation. But he'll be damned if he doesn't do anything about it.

Trish looked at the case.
“What’s in there?”
“Souvenir,” Dante said.
Nero folded his arms. “The Order found it sealed beneath headquarters. Whatever was inside the chamber is gone, but every demon within twenty miles started moving toward it when we opened the door. So yeah.”
“And you brought it here,” Lady said. Nero looked at Dante. Dante looked at the ceiling. “Of course he told you to bring it here.” Lady sighed.

Summary
After a long day at work, Dante would've been prepared for anything. Anything except finding his long lost brother collapsed on the floor of Devil May Cry.
“You’re a real piece of work, you know that? Left me thinking you were dead for a whole decade. Never wrote me any letters, never showed up, no. Nothing.” He laughed bitterly. “Then ta-daa you crawl back from the grave, raise that fuckin’ tower of yours, and turned me into shish kebab.”
Dante kept rambling even though Vergil couldn't hear a word of it. He couldn't help himself. Talking was easier than letting his mind wander to the turmoil inside.
“Left me thinking you're dead for a whole other decade– and, now what?” He scrubbed angrily at the tears threatening to return. “You came back just so I could clean up your mess? After you fucked around all this time? What am I a fucking contingency plan?”
Or before the event of DMC1, Vergil miraculously breaks free from Mundus' control. Barely alive and with his body falling apart, he has only one wish left, to see his only remaining family one last time.
Recovery, unfortunately, might be easier than learning how to be brothers again.
