He tremulously raised a hand, his only hand, and tried to touch Obi-Wan’s face. It was Obi-Wan, it had to be. He knew it, felt it in the Force. This was Obi-Wan. He needed- The halo of light that surrounded Obi-Wan’s head was nearly blinding. He looked like-

What a foolish question. Of course Obi-Wan was. He was always there when Anakin needed him the most. He was here.

Summary
The Devlin murders lead to a very quiet walk home. So quiet that a little sound breaks through it all and then everything falls apart and then back into place.
Edwin followed the tiny meows until he came across a street drain. Cold sludge trickled through the nearly covered grating, and there, deep in the dark, sat a little glowing star of a white kitten. The grating must have been slowly degrading over time, because a perfect kitten-sized gap in the bars had broken away.
The kitten was damp, its fur pressed with the wetness of the pool it sat in, and its tiny eyes fixed up at the hole calling, calling, calling for mama.

Summary
They've finally made it home, and they're doing well. The case load had grown with every passing day. It's been a while, but Edwin just can't get the Cat King out of his head.
Meanwhile, across the ocean, the royal subjects of the Cat King watch him pine. Every time he dies, his body goes through something that can only be called a heat. He just- keeps doing it alone, so his subjects, or namely one kitty named Buttons, gets so fed up with his pining that he takes initiative.
“What the fuck is going on-” the Cat King demanded, and he spun around, staring down at the throngs of cats. No one moved a muscle, not until Edwin took a small step forward.
“That would be about us.” He offered as calmly as he could.
Charles had heard the waver, though, tiny and almost unnoticeable to anyone but him, and he raised an eyebrow at Edwin knowingly. Edwin could almost hear his voice in his head as he said really mate, I can see it, but really?
The moment he spoke, the Cat King’s head turned and found him instantaneously. The Cat King smiled, and it was soft, “Edwin.” He breathed.

A feeling of shame that made his stomach squirm uncomfortably, coupled with a sinking sort of pleasure that made him squirm even more.
A feeling that he’d somehow ‘yes, and’ed himself to the very edge of something he couldn’t even begin to understand.
But as he stood onstage shoveling fistfuls of key lime pie into his mouth with his bare hands, he knew that he wanted to understand it.
And as he stared at Greg, lounging in his throne and grinning at Alex’s clear discomfort, he knew that he wanted to feel it again.

SPOILERS FOR BRAND NEW DAY!!!!!!
It started like this. He’d been in the city for the day when everything went black. As if his entire conscious existence had been snapped out like a light. And then he was back, gasping for air without knowing why he lost it in the first place. It was almost as if he had blinked; a temporary brain freeze had it not been for the screams outside and the emergency sirens wailing in the distance. That and his crappy cup of coffee had gone cold.
It continued with movie night; his comment about the kid's love for Star Wars slipping out almost without him noticing; and to be dreadfully honest, he may not have even caught it himself had it not been for Morgan’s innocent, albeit confused question of “who’s Pete” that followed.
It finds him barreling into the too small ICU unit a few hours later after a hasty explanation to his wife and an adrenaline-fueled apology to his daughter; his brain looping between three distinct facts:
Critical condition.
Spider-Man.
Peter.
Oh god.
(Or Frank Castle really just wants to know why Tony Stark is in Spider-Man's hospital room looking like he's seen a ghost.)

Summary
The competition was Pepper’s idea, part of her strategy to appeal to the younger generation while gaining good publicity for the company. All Tony had to do, she’d said, was chose from a group of contestants, mentor one of them for a few months and then announce them as his bright new protege.
Tony thought it was a terrible idea, declaring that he was not fit to be a mentor, and then avoiding the subject all together. That was, until he met Peter, a suspicious boy who was too quiet and too intelligent and who Tony inexplicably starts to care about.
Peter, having unknowingly entered himself into this competition, struggles to scrape enough money together on his intern’s wage for food and rent, while trying his best to forget MJ (and failing miserably).

Even if Peter has absolutely no idea what any of that chemical bullshit means.
Trying to be a low-profile vigilante works wonders for keeping his distance, especially from this world's Tony Stark. The problem with gravity, though, is that no matter how hard you fight it, it always ends up dragging you back to the ground.
Or: Peter copes with the trauma of his losses and a biology he doesn't understand, while the Avengers, specifically Tony Stark, try to protect a fourteen-year-old pup who absolutely refuses to be protected.
