Summary
Nya still remembers what it felt like to die. Not an experience she would've liked to repeat again, at least not for several decades. But when she and the other ninja visit a certain pyramid full of death traps, she finds herself doing just that, over, and over, and over...
Because every time Nya dies, time gets reset, and unfortunately there's no way to leave the pyramid unless she can figure out how to survive all its booby traps AND make sure everyone on the team stays alive, without waking up the evil locked within, and without losing her sanity in the process...
Tl;dr: Nya is stuck in a time loop while she and the ninja explore Aspheera's pyramid.

Kai froze.
He doubted he would have been able to recognize that face sooner, blinded as he’d been by worry over Green’s state to pay much attention to what he looked like beneath the mask. But now, with all his focus trained on the blonde boy – someone who should have been a stranger – it was undeniable to Kai whose face he was looking at.

Cannot believe there isn't a fic about the "Wyldfyre is Kai and Skylor's daughter from the future" theory, at least none that I found, so I'm doing it myself before the show addresses Wyldfyre's real parents!
Wyldfyre had never been interested in finding out about the people who'd given birth to her before - after all they'd abandoned her when she was just a baby - until a visit to Ninjago in an effort to find Arin's parents reveals who her own parents are.
But how could Kai be her father? They got along well but now their entire relationship has changed and she doesn't know how to feel about it.
As for Kai, he has no idea about how to deal with this earth-shattering revelation any more than she does. All he can think of to do is to finally go looking for his old flame, Skylor, the supposed mother of his daughter, and hope that she has an explanation... as well as reconnect with Wyldfyre and assure her that no matter what the truth turns out to be, she would always be important to him. Maybe more important than he'd ever realized. -

The legendary ninjas disappeared while trying to stop the merge. After years with no sign or so much as a whisper from the ninja, Arin had mostly given up hope of ever seeing his childhood heroes again. That was until he and Sora were captured by Imperium while trying to save a baby dragon.
Or… What if Riyu was not the only one trapped by Imperium in season 1 episode 1 of Dragons Rising? And what if Lloyd wasn’t there to save Arin and Sora from their claws?
Or… Lloyd is captured by Imperium to be used as their new power source. Because of this, he is not there to save Arin and Sora in the first episode.

And, well, Kai happens to have a friend group dedicated to hating Garmadon anyway, so there’s only one natural conclusion to be drawn here.
Lloyd needs to join the Secret Ninja team.
