Summary
They buy the 200 fucking pound fountain. It is infuriatingly cheap, and unspeakably difficult to maneuver into any space without removing paint from said space. Rex has to come out and help them hoist it into the garage and several hours pass around the kitchen table, drinking scalding hot mint tea and plotting. Plotting. Plotting.
They’re going to have to bolt the thing down somehow or else people are going to just steal it right from the center of the roundabout. Cody has about twenty bags of unused cement in his garage and some bolts big enough to get through it if need be.
He looks at Wolffe. Wolffe looks at Rex.
(Retired Commander Cody moves into a new neighborhood and becomes furious at the way a nearby roundabout is treated as a dumpsite. He installs a giant Jedi Crest fountain dead in the center of it and accidentally creates a safe place for the diasporic Jedi community to worship.)

This fic is beautiful. There was that Merlin fanfic that I absolutely adore, that just made the world feel a bit more magical every time I read it, and this one feels like that too. It makes it feel like, if you put in the effort, you really can make your corner of the world a little lighter. Kindness begets kindness.

Summary
In walks this thirty-something Jedi-looking motherfucker, in robes with some small amount of armor, the second-most ridiculously Core accent you’ve ever heard outside a holo screen, and two kids who look ready to bite someone. The human one is twelve-ish and angry and wearing clothes that are too big for him, and has a lightsaber that he can’t really wrap his entire hand around. The Togruta looks about eight, and is chomping her way through a freshly killed, still bleeding lizard the size of her arm. She is clinging to the human kid’s tunics, and looking around like she’s got no fear whatsoever. You're almost impressed.
“Hello, there!” the probably-Jedi sumbitch says, completely ignoring the fact that he’s in cuffs, and being paraded in with great suspicion by a squad of six. He sounds more like he’s some politician asking for directions in a palace. ”I’m afraid we appear to have had something of a misunderstanding. I don’t suppose there’s someone I could speak with to get this straightened out?”

-What it actually became: Still that, but Jet took over and now it's his story to tell.This is very possibly one of the best ATLA fics I have read, the character development is absolutely unmatched (the character growth, the nuance, the good-people-aren't-always-nice and people-are-complicated-and-make-complicated-choices and it-is-worth-it-to-try-to-be-better, absolutely incredible) and I adore the way the world is expanding here
