In the 17th century, at the end of the Ming Dynasty, as the Manchus took over mainland China, the Ming loyalist warlord Koxinga drove the Dutch colonists out of the island of Formosa and set up a kingdom there for himself.
In an alternate omegaverse, among the things Koxinga seized from the Dutch was an omega young man to be a consort for his oldest alpha son, Tatpho, no matter what either of them thought about it... Tatpho quickly falls for his consort, but all Pieter wants is to go home.

Underage warning: main characters are 17 and 18 by modern reckoning at the beginning of the story. Rape/non-con warning: forced marriage of a prisoner and an attempted sexual assault.)
