“You’ve been distracted,” Nightmare says, hood shifting just enough to allow an accusatory glare at Killer. Killer doesn’t react, holding himself silent and still. The glare disappears back under the deep hood. “But I am a merciful king… I understand that loyal soldiers should be rewarded with certain indulgences, lest they… stray from their duties. You agree, don’t you, Killer?”
Killer watches as Nightmare’s blackened phalanges caress the vertebrae of the figure’s neck. There’s no skull attached to it.
“If you want me to, then sure, Boss,” Killer says numbly.
