"I have some old clothes. Stay here." She says, pushing him onto the swivel chair that sits behind her desk. She has to step around dishes to get to her closet, pushing aside her usual to dig in the dusty back recesses.
"Like- girl clothes?" Max asks, shyly, just barely enough for her to hear.
"You're going to prom with a girl. Like it or not, this is what you get." Chloe throws behind her shoulder, before heaving an old cardboard box out of the closet and stumbling back. She drops it on the bed, which sags under its weight. "It'll be fine. I was a little butch, even back then."
