Then, with the entire world watching through ten million live screens, he slid his hand slowly down—past the silk of his blouse, past the rigid leather of the cincher, and pressed his open hand directly, unmistakably, over the rounded swell of his lower stomach.
He looked straight into the primary broadcast lens, his dark eyes burning with a terrifying, unholy luminescence.
A slow, jagged manic smile curved across his lips.
He didn't sing the final line. He just mouthed five words into the open mic, loud enough to pick up through the static and the screaming crowd:
“Are you ready to play?”
