Summary
Ghost didn’t know when he got it into his head that Johnny was his.
It might have been in Las Almas or Chicago. Maybe it was on the morning runs they shared, never verbally planned, but each of them falling into step as the sun made its gloomy appearance over the horizon. Maybe it was the number of times Soap had put on the kettle when they returned, and while he sat in the little dilapidated rec room and waited for Soap to make coffee, the Scot puttered about and made him a strong cup of Earl Grey as well (and just the way he liked it, too). Maybe it was on other missions, banter flying as fast as bullets, Soap’s accent lilting in his ear over comms.
Maybe it was their thighs pressed flush together during debriefs, or the long looks his sergeant sometimes gave him, when he thought Ghost wasn’t looking.
Maybe, maybe, there were too many instances of closeness for Ghost to count- though he’d tried. He’d tried almost desperately to pinpoint the precise moment he’d looked at Soap and thought mine, an all-consuming lance of possessiveness better suited for two people who were actually in a relationship washing over him.
Or; Ghost finds that he's fallen in love with Johnny. What a predicament.

Summary
The old man with the hideous hat continued, “John here is going to attempt a sniper qualification and-“
“What?!”,he blurted out unintentionally and the room froze. “How’did’ya get the impression Mr. Undiagnosed-ADHD would be able to sit still hours without an end?”
The aforementioned Scot furrowed his brows and pouted slightly – a grown man shouldn’t do that, no matter how endearing, it was just distracting and unfitting for the professional setting they were in.
“Ah dinnae know yer aware but ah prefer Mr.Diagnosed-ADHD, hav’known since ah was a wee wean.”,the Sergeant replied matter-of-factly.
Ghost and Soap first meet on a helicopter above Verdansk, then again when the Taskforce 141 is created. The newly-found team trains together to become a cohesive, efficient unit, getting to know another. Over time Soap and Ghost fall in love but can't or won't act on their feelings, all while battling their own inner demons, memories, and PTSD issues.
A canon-accurate, realistic story covering 16 months up until April 2021. The other half prior to MWII 2022 is covered in Part II.

Summary
So this was the first piece I finished for the event, and is the last piece I have that's done for TopGhost/BottomSoap week or #GhoapWeek2026.

Soap is a soldier in John Price's marching army. He witnessed Price's haunting knight in battle. His need to know who and what 'it' is has it's costs.
