Somewhere on the road, TC and Lestat become friends.

He has only one chance to save Claudia, fix the mistakes of his past, and somehow work with his younger self without killing him.

No, this is no great departure from that. That, the well-trodden road past the nightmare, complete with adamant and sweeping denial that he was even dreaming at all. If it were New Orleans, they might already even be laying back down, Lestat already waxing poetic on the ‘bad blood’ he must have had that evening and the horrors it does for one’s sleep.
And yet, it is not New Orleans. Bummer. Louis could use a smoke.

Lestat turns his head, doing so as gently as he can. His throat screeches with unreasonable pain at the effort. Behind him, nothing but himself. Himself, and then himself again, turned upside down. A hole where his mouth should be. The same filth trickling down between his legs, tracing its outline.
“Can you hear them, Lelio? They’re coming back—my time is up.”

It was pure magnetism, whatever force it was that joined them across time and space, through every awful, terrible version of themselves. Lestat never fully understood it, always explained it away as their maker/fledgling bond, but what he and Louis shared was entirely something else. It was intoxicating, as it always was, and they were both quickly falling back into the abyss, losing themselves in it, but finding the other already there waiting.
A post 3x06 fix-it because what would happen the rest of the night if Armand and Daniel never showed up?

And all of a sudden Louis is a child, playing hide-and-seek with Grace at dusk, trying to spot her outside through the windows of their family home, but only seeing himself.
He's a young man, staring into the looking glass behind the wash basin in his bedroom, wondering what the fuck is wrong with him after sneaking in from a late night tryst with Jonah.
He's checking his pocket watch in Tom Anderson's office, the light and angle reflecting half of his tired face, as the rest of the men in the room ignore him.
Louis doesn't remember crying out, but suddenly, Lestat is next to him and it hits Louis like a blow to the chest—112 years and thousands of miles separated from where they first met, there is no one else in the world who can remember Louis' human eyes. No one else who knows what Louis was like before he was turned into what he is now.
No one except him.
> Louis finds an old pair of Armand's brown contacts and thinks it'd be fun to try them on, until it isn't. Lestat tells Louis how much he has always been loved.
