    “I don’t know, it could be a nice break from everything,” she says, sardonically.

    Clark is aghast, his mouth parted as he narrows his eyes at her. Sometimes, Lois thinks he hates her entirely. But then those eyes of his dart sideways, take on a reflective rheum, before he refocuses on her. Lois has no clue what he thought of that made him crack and give in, because in the next instant he concedes: “You know what, fine.”

    Chasing an article while staring down the barrel of a gun, Lois winds herself up in an impromptu sting operation (read: kidnapped). Clark somehow tags along.

    Well damn. Hopefully Lois can get Batman on the line to get them out of this dumpster fire.

    Or: Clark hasn't been able to make heads or tails of Bruce Wayne for months, but when they're both kidnapped by people trying to extort Lois, he's going to have find some common ground fast. Weird how Bruce reminds him of his colleague Batman, who Clark is pretty sure is terrified of him, but that's probably not important.
