Summary

“Gestionnaire Thibault,” she greets with a nod. Thibault responds in kind. “Forgive me if I’m being too forward, but are you sure you would rather not rest after your journey? Fontaine is a long way from here.”
“That’s what I said,” the Grand Master says.
“Uh…” Giving his response to the Grand Master had been easy, but somehow, Thibault finds himself tongue-tied in front of Miss Jean’s earnest gaze. He clears his throat, suddenly very uncomfortable. “Uh, yes, it’s fine.”
She does not look too comforted by the words, but she nods nonetheless. “I hope your journey was a comfortable one, then.”
Comfortable. Thibault isn’t sure whether he wishes to laugh or cry.
“Yeah, it was uneventful for the most part,” the Grand Master says.
Miss Jean glances at him inquisitively. “For the most part?”
“Oh, it was nothing much, really.”
“Grand Master, at least three people tried to assassinate you,” Thibault blurts out before he can help himself.When a diplomat from Fontaine arrived in Mondstadt, the last thing he expected was to bear witness to the people of Mondstadt trying to kill their Grand Master. Is attempted murder really a friendly gesture in Mondstadt?
