Summary
Dr. Spencer Reid knows people. He knows how they act, how to profile them, how to put them into boxes, so on and so forth. But for the first time, he himself fits into a new box. A box of understanding what it feels like to be dragged in the dirt. A box of understanding how drugs affect someone. A box he never wanted to fit into but was shoved inside with the flaps taped and sealed.
Kidnappings aren't the only way people can disappear. Spencer knows this because he watched his mom disappear in front of him, day by day. How does he break that curse? How does he open his box enough so that he can breathe? How does he not disappear in front of everybody he cares about?
Hotch is determined to keep Reid from going over the edge. He doesn't want to find out what life is like without Dr. Spencer Reid.
