Izuku sat at the far end of the table from the kitchen, wedged between Todoroki and a still-half-asleep Kaminari, and focused on his rice bowl with the kind of intensity usually reserved for life-or-death combat situations. He did not look up. He did not track Kacchan's movements through his peripheral vision. He did not notice when Kacchan sat down three seats away, close enough that Izuku could have reached out and touched him if he'd been willing to stretch.

Katsuki paused mid-breath. His eyes narrowed, searching Shouto’s face with a sudden intensity. For a second, the bravado flickered, the Great Explosion Murder God persona peeling back to reveal the man who stayed up late to make sure Shouto’s thermal gear was charged. He looked like he might actually understand the weight of what Shouto was feeling. The silent proposal hanging in the air between them, unspoken but undeniable.
"Yeah," Katsuki said, his voice dropping to a low, quiet rasp that sent a shiver straight through Shouto’s core. The mock anger was gone, replaced by a raw, grounded honesty. "Permanent. Like us."
Or; Five times Shouto tried to propose with a plan, a color-coded spreadsheet, or the perfect atmosphere, and the one time he realized that the only "perfect" thing about them was the chaos.
