Deeply drawn to Ed, and seeking a way to find happiness, Stede makes a deal with the sea witch, Ned Low, to trade his tail for a pair of legs.
But for Stede to remain a human, he must win Ed's love in seven days. With treachery afoot, Stede must be brave and follow his heart, or risk losing everything...

Summary
Stede Bonnet, longing to be free of the pressures of a gentleman, accidentally stumbles upon an enchanted lake during a bet with his father's closest advisor, Nigel Badminton. There, Stede witnesses a beautiful black swan transform into a human, whom he realizes to be Edward Teach, of the dread pirate Blackbeard.
After introducing himself, Stede learns that Ed and his crew are cursed by their vile captain, Benjamin Hornigold, to be swans by day and human by night, unless Ed takes his place as Hornigold's Kraken.
Despite evil forces from all sides stacked against them, Stede vows to help Ed break the spell. But will true love be enough to save each other, and themselves?

Summary
Although I was matched with a writer and had a fic planned, my collaboration unfortunately didn't work out. Despite this, the lovely mods have allowed me to add this art to this year's collection.
I have always been fascinated with auroras and how they feel magical whenever they light up the sky with dancing colours. I was inspired by the worlds of His Dark Materials and Dune whilst making this piece, and I'd hoped for a fic in a similar vein. Alas, it didn't come to pass, but I'm still proud of this piece and how it turned out.
If this piece inspires any writers in any way, I would LOVE to see some interpretations. Although it wouldn't be included in this year's RBB collection, I'd be delighted if my art still found a home. In any case, I hope you all like this, and I'm so thankful to the OFMD RBB team for the opportunity to participate as an artist this year. 🌌❤️

But when Stede finds himself paired up with Ed, will he find a way to talk it through with his co-captain, or will he lose both the games and his dearest friend?
