Yoon Bum turns slowly, lowering the heat on the stove. The basement? Bum never checks the basement. That’s the one thing he told Sangwoo he wouldn’t do. He has no idea what’s down there, and the thought of Sangwoo ever treating him like he had once before is horrifying to even consider.
“I-I don’t,” Bum offers, lips quivering in a small frown. “You know that,” he encourages.
“Right, right,” Sangwoo considers, glancing at the door knob, barely acknowledging Yoon Bum at all.
“We should go down there again.”

Zhongli Quan doesn't quite know how he ended up here. Getting married to his shidi, that is.
But then again, he only has himself to blame, for he was the one who'd offered himself up in marriage (as a joke!!) as thanks for all that Lü Dongbin had done for him. In his defence, Lü Dongbin had rejected all his previous attempts to thank him, so how was he to know that this time, he would say yes?
"Don't tell me... must I go as far as to offer myself up as thanks before you'll accept my token of gratitude?" Zhongli Quan had said it largely as a joke, which made the response he received from his shidi even more alarming.
"…"
"… if you insist," came Lü Dongbin's voice, far too calm to be believed.
"Shidi, ah, shidi. Don't you know that this is called taking things too far?" Zhongli Quan laughed nervously.
"… But you're the one that offered." Lü Dongbin said in a matter-of-fact voice. But… okay. His shidi did have a point, and it wasn't exactly like he was unwilling.

It’s a little funny, Zhongli Quan thinks, that the first time they met, he’d given his sect robes to Lü Dongbin as well. Now, Lü Dongbin is here, standing in Zhongli Quan’s robes once again. There are fifteen years of growing-up wearing them down, but the look in Lü Dongbin’s eyes has remained the same, all this time. The way he looks at Zhongli Quan has not changed, even if Zhongli Quan has.
“I told you that I don’t regret what I did,” Zhongli Quan says, “and that remains true. If shidi is the only person I could save, I would still choose to do everything again the very same way.”
Or: Zhongli Quan goes to find Lü Dongbin after leaving Zhongnan Shan.
