The taxi driver stares at Lan Wangji like he's insane and for a self-conscious moment Lan Wangji wonders if his pronunciation is so bad the man simply didn't understand him. He knows he reads and writes nearly flawlessly, but he's never been much of a talker and that has always hindered the verbal aspect of his language studies.
"You don't want to go there, man," the taxi driver tells him.
"I do," Lan Wangji replies.
"That place - that place is haunted."

Summary
The world is really, really white and fuzzy when Wei Wuxian finally comes to. He looks at the panelling on the ceiling above him and tries to take stock of his body, feeling his weight against the sheets and the bandages holding him together. Everything feels so strange and foreign.
His eyelashes are all gummy and crusty and gross. He had known, when everything went off script and he let himself submit to Wen Chao's onslaught, that he would be absolutely fucked if he came out of it alive, and he was right.
