Summary
“Joker, you good?” Skull probes. He falls in next to their leader, brown eyes scanning Joker up and down from beneath his mask. “You took a crap ton of hits back there, maybe we should take a break or something.”
A curt head shake is Joker’s only response to Skull’s concerns. He takes a few steps as if to continue, then suddenly collapses, hitting the ground hard with only one arm out to break his fall. Noir barely has time to register her own panic, rushing towards him on pure instinct, his (real) name catching in her throat as she drops to her knees beside him.
On the ground, Joker shakes and shivers, arm curled around his middle still with his forehead pressed against the hard ground. His dark-coloured vest makes it impossible to tell, but when Noir reaches out to brush his side with her fingers, Joker immediately stiffens, letting out a hiss through clenches teeth. She flinches away with a muttered apology, but freezes before she can do anything more productive, gaze affixed her own gloved hand.
