Summary
Instead of being squished between two Men-in-Black like most times before, Grace was in the backseat with Stratt, separated from the rest of the car by a rectangular black glass divider thingy.
Perhaps she wanted to verify the soundness of his sanity after he rambled about death, the space-time continuum, and put to question the meaning of life? Hm. That was quite possible. Though, it could also be because he hit her with, “Astrophage is mainly water,” afterwards, and then, “I just know,” as the reasoning behind it. But he was just a time-looping scientist, okay? Not some cool agent from a spy movie.

or: Grace has died and come back quite a few times already, waking up in his classroom every time. Not all of the iterations were spent on Hail Mary, though - sometimes he remained a teacher, sometimes he stayed on Earth. But they all ended in death. Earth was never saved. And so he woke up again. -

“What do I look like?” he asked eventually, feeling a strange but welcome calm settle over him.
Malfoy tilted his head to the side, squinting in the bluish predawn light. “Black hair, chin length and wavy. Pale complexion.” He looked him up and down. “A teen, I’d say, although I don’t have much experience with children to know for sure. You’re definitely a lot younger than you were, though.”
“I’m a different person now,” Harry noted absently. “And I’m a teenager with the mind of a middle-aged man, at that. Great.”
“Not middle-aged,” Malfoy remarked. “Not yet, by wizarding standards.”
Harry rolled his eyes. “Well, you better correct your standards, because the average life expectancy here is like forty. If you’re lucky enough not to live during a war, that is, which we aren’t, ‘cause there are like fifty wars throughout the show.”

The spider-sense remained quiet as though everything was normal. And wasn’t that scary? Things were about the furthest from normal right now. He tried to move, to do something, but his body just didn’t listen. No matter how much he wanted to run, hide, escape, he could only barely flail.
“Félicitations,” the doctor smiled, handing him over to the woman. “C'est un beau petit garçon.” (Congratulations. It’s a beautiful little boy.)
Peter blinked, screams dying down. This had to be some sick joke.
Or: Peter is reborn in another universe, gets orphaned, goes into foster care, gets a little confused, ends up in Gotham, and things get worse
