Summary
This is a reference guide intended to help writers of Regency-era stories by providing a quick place to check whether a certain phrase was in use in the era, and if so, how it was used. The earliest attestation dates of phrases that postdate the Regency era might also make this guide useful to writers of neo-Victorian fiction.

Summary
...he could see tears caught on the fringe of her lashes. She blinked and they were gone, the hurt in her eyes replaced by something that made him think absurdly of spider silk—harder than steel and incomprehensibly gentle. That terrifying, naked sincerity.
A trap.
“Then I won’t heal you.”

When an errand to collect Ironbark goes awry and darkspawn show up, Hawke struggles with the guilt she's carried since Lothering and the promise she made Fenris never to heal him.Series

Summary
Five years after my initial playthrough, I decided to play this stupid, beautiful, obsession-inducing game again and fell right back in love with FenHawke. This fic is a love letter to the game - mostly canon-compliant and as self-indulgently long, fluffy, angsty, and full of banter as I can make it. I'm also exploring magic, first as something that actually needs to be hidden and second as something that can be used in peace as much as it can be in war. Tags will be added as they become relevant, but this is already 33 (edit: 60 [edit: 159]) pages long in my drafts and I have to get it out into the world.
Hawke didn't want to be a mercenary, let alone a hero, and definitely not a Champion. Fenris, for his part, wanted to escape magic in all its forms. However, life rarely gives one what they want - and for the two of them, that might even be a good thing.

Summary
“When you write on a piece of vellum you can’t get rid of the ink, once it’s written down,” Aveline had said. “So people take little strips of new vellum, and put it over with paste, so they can put something new down on top. You seem to do that quite a lot, you know.”
“I’ve never written on vellum,” Fenris reminded her.
“It’s a metaphor,” she’d sighed. “But you knew that, and you’re being sour about it.”
