Kazuya heard Eijun’s breath hitch. “Don’t be ridiculous, Miyuki Kazuya. Celibacy is part of my job, I-I would never!”
“I’ve no doubt you’re a virtuous priest,” Kazuya drawled, eyes narrowing, pupils turning into cat-like slits. He was hungry for all the unbridled lust that Eijun had been suppressing for so long. “You preach with such passion, yet when it comes to the topic of lust, of cleanliness, of sex, you clam up, you know. Just like a little boy with his hand in the cookie jar.” Kazuya paused, letting those words linger in the space between them before he lowly added, “Almost like you’re hiding something sinful about yourself.”
Eijun said nothing else and Kazuya sensed the air around them getting heady. Sensing his victory, Kazuya grinned devilishly. I gotcha. Caught like a little mouse in my trap.

Peter has to leave to stop the world from unraveling. Had to go somewhere he didn't exist so he didn't trigger the same cascade event there as well. New world. New threats. And few resources to help him other than his own brains and a suit with a sometimes overprotective AI.
For the record, this whole multiverse and parallel universe stuff is a giant pain in a certain spider's ass.
