The late morning sun isn't as picturesque as the sunset yesterday, but it's still a pretty thing in the way it slips around his own shadow and falls on Rin's flushed face. It isn't even worth saying, or thinking, that I'm unlucky at this point. Really, it won't do any good. I know it won't. All the same, with Razor's tongue half buried in my ear, it's all I can do to not curse my ill fortune at the top of my lungs. The fact that I think it feels good just makes me twice as unlucky as I'd be otherwise. Dammit.
Bennett's bad luck kicks into gear as it always does, alongside a slight dose of irritatingly persistent internal pessimism, but when Razor winds up taking care of him, things spiral in a vastly different direction than anything Bennett would have thought possible.
