Thankfully, Richie is not naked nor bleeding from his skull when Eddie opens the door. He is, however, supine on the floor with his pants bunched around his knees, his boxers wet with what can only be his own piss, and a little bit of puke on his chin and bare chest.
"God, Rich…"
"I threw up," Richie says absolutely miserably, the words coming out in a slurred whine.
"Yeah. You did, buddy."
"An' peed a lil."
"…yeah. Yeah, I can see that."
The year is 1997, and Richie comes home drunk. And not happy, giggly cute drunk. Like, peeing his pants and throwing up on himself catastrophe level drunk. His roommate Eddie has to take care of him, like always, and Eddie is extremely irritated and frustrated and concerned and… a little horny about it. Love is complicated like that.
Or, Eddie gives drunk Richie a bath, and things get perverted fast.

Buck scoffs. It’s wet and bitter and he hates the sound of it, but he can’t stop it. “Oh, and you will? You gonna show me what I’m worth, Eddie? You?”
He doesn’t mean it to sound like a dare. But fuck, it comes out like one.
Eddie flinches, as if Buck hit him, and for a second he looks so small — hurt and startled — before he closes it off, harder than before.
“Fuck you, Buck.”

The guy looks like he’s in the process of leaving, too. He also has a goodie bag clutched in his hand so he must have just presented, same as Steve. He’s tall and skinny and his hair is a long frizzy nightmare; he’s wearing beat up white Reeboks and a torn up black shirt and Steve somehow instantly recognizes him. Something heavy seeps into his stomach. It must be dread.
Of course the first alpha Steve encounters after his presentation heat is Eddie Munson. There’s probably some kind of deep irony embedded into the whole situation, but he didn’t really pay attention to that unit of English, and even if he did he’s not sure he’d even be able to put it all into coherent words over the pounding of his head.
