“Are you human?” Jones asks stiffly.
Jack scoffs again. “Obviously.”
Jones gives him a somewhat reprimanding look, as if to say no, it isn’t. Jack winces. “I’m not—” His throat kind of catches. “I’m not an animal. I don’t bite.”
“That’s not what they told me.”
Shit. The thing is, they’re right. He did bite his first warden. More specifically, he tore the guy’s throat out with his teeth.
Jack announces, perhaps idiotically, “I won’t bite you.”
//Locked in the cells of Torchwood Three, Jack receives a new handler by the name of Ianto Jones. Somehow, this one seems different than the rest.

Summary
The blood doesn’t come out. It sticks, dries to the concrete like dye — seeps into all the cracks and settles there. Ianto’s bought enough bleach to fill a bathtub. He’s spent enough time down in the basement scrubbing for his hands to peel, raw and dry and cracked. But it keeps him busy, at least. Even if the concrete bruises his knees and the bleach burns his lungs.

From the way Jack manoeuvres him, heavy-handed and firm and with military precision, Ianto knows he’s thinking about him. Knows he’s imagining all the coarse cloth of a uniform, firm muscles and stubborn confidence and a megawatt smile.
