A few months ago, Shane would’ve called him an asshole and left him in this dingy hospital room alone. A few months ago, Shane would’ve rolled his eyes and thrown back a line about wanting to ensure all his patients were looked after and how he had a responsibility, especially to members of his own firehouse. Hell, a few months ago, maybe Shane wouldn’t have even been here in the first place.
But today, after the scare he’s had and the hours he’s spent really coming to terms with… well, everything, Shane just nods tiredly.
“I was. I was terrified actually. I haven’t left this hospital since I rolled in doing chest compressions on you because we couldn’t get your sinus rhythm back and your heart stopped.”

Fantastic secret relationship Kakairu fic told with a dual timelines narrative. Jumps between slow burn past Kakairu, and “present” secret Kakairu with Kakashi as Hokage. Super fantastic, featuring great plot/intrigue, angst, h/c, fluff… I fell super behind at some point and really need to catch up (forgot where I left off bah).

Absolutely gorgeous fic that I didn’t know I would be so invested in. Super fantastic. The one where Ilya doesn’t make the NHL due to a career-ending injury before he could be drafted, and ends up working at a discreet Montreal kink bar as a host/dom to make ends meet (which he barely does) and keep his working status so he can stay in Canada (dubiously, on his expired visa). Enter Shane having his soft BDSM sexual awakening at the bar, cue the Hollanov slow burn. SO, so good, unfortunately the author’s been getting hit with a ton of internet drama so this is likely on hold until they finish it entirely, hoping this doesn’t get wiped.
(YEP it’s hidden now. Not too surprised but still bummed about it.)
