Of course, his brain immediately went to the scientific aspects of it. How much could he dull his powers? Could he nullify them completely, or would that mess with his body more than it had before when he first began trying to block them? If he managed to do so, what might that look like? "I mean, yeah probably. I would have to adjust some things, and have E.V monitor it but -"
Wade's voice was more controlled when he spoke again. "Do you think you could outrun me without them?"

Summary
The towns were being rebuilt, slowly, sturdier than they were before. The forests had been replanted, the first trees beginning to sprout up through the ground with a few even showing small, purple leaves from wiry branches. Jade had established a base for the OXR, the people that had stayed, so they could monitor the faint traces left of the Zero Point.
Kendo's fingers rolled the golden bullet that still hung from his neck. Suddenly it all felt less right. The chain weighed heavily on his shoulders, and the sun seemed a little less warm than it had before. A little less enjoyable. A little less perfect. Discontent growing until Kendo found it hard to still appreciate the things he knew he should. How could he when Midas was still gone?

Risking a peek down only to find them covered in webs that he could barely feel, trapping them to the roof. "Uhh, Peteypie, you're…" He giggled, and he knew it was probably not the time that he should be talking, but his mouth still moved before he could stop it. "You're leaking all over me. Super hot. Whatever his mind had decided to say next broke apart in his throat, groaning at the feeling of teeth sinking into his skin just above his collarbone. Too sharp. Human teeth didn't do that, he would know. He had been bitten, again, more times that he would like to admit. Human teeth didn't sink into skin that easily. Human teeth didn't make his skin feel like it was burning from the inside out.

Picking up his phone as if it was about to burn his hand, he pulled open his photos before promptly crushing it against his chest. He needed to get a hold of himself before he walked back out there. He needed to delete the picture. Peeking down once more, his heart stuttered at the image that was still displayed across the screen.

It should hurt, in fact it does, but it's also Wade's hands on him and grabbing him and holding him down and his brain just isn't working right, okay? That must be it – he's blood-dizzy and zoned out on adrenaline, and at the first pass of needle through skin he makes a noise – thick, needy, drawn out. Fingers gripping at the couch cushions until the fabric tears beneath them.
“Hnn… hah.”
“Sorry, Pete, I–” Cutting himself off mid-apology, Wade suddenly looks up at him, and Peter can tell he's making a face even with the mask on. There's a pause. For a second it feels like Wade is staring a hole straight into his stupid, slow brain. Peter's breath comes out hot, heavy, shaky. Then, slowly, with realization: “That wasn't from pain.”
Shaking his head weakly, Peter presses his free hand over his eyes and squeezes at his temples, humiliated. “Sorry,” he mumbles, “I can do it myself if you want.”

He grabs the kids face gently, tilting his head towards himself. Wade takes his thumb and–wait–what the fuck?
Wade tilts his head to the side in utter confusion as he tries to understand what in the shit fuck is happening right now. Not only is his nose magically unbroken, but the black eye has faded into a lighter shade and his split lip looks less swollen. He runs a thumb over his nose gently to check to see if it's indeed intact, leaning in close with a quizzical frown. All Wade can find is the yellowish hue of a healing bruise that was once there. Is he a mutant with a healing factor? How many mutants does he know? Not exactly many. How many mutants does he know that are as pretty as this? His eyes scan down the length of his body, trying to figure out the puzzle in front of him on the table. He’s just missing some pieces…What is he not seeing?
