During an evening in their youths in Oldtown, Ormund comes to Gwayne's chambers uninvited.
"Ormund?" Gwayne's voice is soft with sleep. He rubs at his eyes, looking hardly awake and sweetly sleepy. An odd sort of fondness stabs at Ormund's heart. When the object of that ache caused such a pain in him, one could hardly find Ormund at fault.
"Go back to sleep, cousin," he whispers in his ear, laid behind him in Gwayne's own bed. It was truly inconvenient that he had awoken, when Ormund so considerately took such great care in not rousing him—touching him gently, moving him as he pleased, and preparing him gingerly with his own oils.
