Summary
The smart thing would be to leave. The instincts inside Robert scream for him to get out, but somehow he stays rooted in place. He notices his own breathing coming out rougher now, as he watches Chad's chest heave with effort, smoke escaping his lips with each sharp exhale.
Go. Robert tells himself. Go. Go now.
Chad whines again, followed by a deep growl. He looks at Robert with wide eyes, barely any of the gold left in his irises. Yet Chad still looks at Robert with confusion, questioning why he hasn't moved.
Robert doesn't know why. He stares back at Chad, and somehow finds himself beginning to relax. "It's okay, Chad." He whispers. "I'm here."

Summary
One of the worst times to have delayed-onset post-nut clarity is the moment the epidural hits. Ask Robert how he knows.
In Robert's defense, he was 21 and no one makes good decisions when they're 21. Nine months after a very enjoyable but objectively stupid one night stand, he comes face to face with the result of his decisions. And he loves her. He loves her so damn much that after coming back from a 3 month coma, 3 months of recovery, and one really unpleasant press conference announcing his retirement, he takes the first job he's offered.
Blonde Blazer's deal is definitely too good to be true, but Robert's damn good at making the best of a bad situation. This one, though, might just stretch him to his limits. Mentoring and wrangling a bunch of former villains is difficult enough on its own, but when one of those villains is the very guy who knocked Robert up almost twelve years prior, who not only remembers him, but apparently remembers him fondly enough to hit on him Day One? Yeah. Well.
Things could be worse, right?

Summary
Eddie struggles with a whole lot of feelings. He doesn’t know how to feel about religion, or going to church. He thinks it’s a whole lot of nonsense, but he keeps finding himself coming back to prayer and ritual. It’s like it’s a part of him he can’t shake. There’s more parts of him he can’t seem to shake, thoughts and feelings he doesn’t want to face. He doesn’t face them, until he does something stupid at work.
One of Buck’s favorite people in the world is struggling and he doesn’t know what to do. Even tough he doesn’t understand it, saying some prayer once in a while seems like the least he can do.

Summary
It’s been one week, two days, and twenty hours since Eddie told Buck he was in love with him.
It happened a few feet from where Buck’s standing now, just a little further to the left of the coffee table, and in front of the lamp. Since that day, he finds himself drifting there on cue, feet dragging to the spot before his mind catches up.
He’s staring at the spot, he realizes, and tears his eyes away.
It’s been one week, two days, twenty hours (and roughly seventeen minutes) since Eddie told Buck he was in love with him, and now he’s sitting on his couch helping Buck decide on a shirt for his date.
A date that’s not with Eddie, because when Eddie told him he loved him, Buck didn’t say it back. Because he isn’t. In love with Eddie, that is.
