Summary
"Do you always come to the door dressed like that?" Emily heard herself ask, and immediately hated it, because it had come out as though she'd noticed, when the entire point was that she had not.
"Only when someone knocks." The corner of the woman's mouth went up. "Should I have changed? You'd have waited. I'd have liked knowing you were out here waiting for me."
"Is this how it works over here? You do a favour and then flirt with the woman on your doorstep and call it neighbourly?"
"Is that what you think I'm doing? Flirting?"
--
Or the one where Emily ends up letting the vampire who is great with her children drink her blood once a week for purely practical reasons. Like super practical. So practical. Please stop looking at her like that, Serena.

On a rainy Wednesday morning in Notting Hill, Emily Charlton is doing her best to survive another miserable day in her small independent bookshop. Between tourists, influencers, and people who dare write in books, her patience is already running dangerously low when an unexpected customer walks through the door.
Things just get worse from that point.

Summary
“Oh, Andrea.”
The name slipped out before Emily could stop it. Andrea’s breath caught, and Emily heard it. The sound was small. It was devastating - and Emily decided to dig the knife in deeper.
“That has always been the problem, hasn’t it?” Emily said. “You don’t know. You don’t know what you want until someone else has paid the price. You don’t know whether you want fashion or journalism, ambition or virtue, New York or elsewhere, me or the clean little story where leaving was brave because staying would have been complicated.” Andrea’s face went white. Emily kept going, her voice barely a whisper. “You arrive twenty years later with slightly better trousers and a sad little apology, and I am meant to do what, exactly? Admire your growth? Provide texture for your article? Reassure you that the woman you abandoned has done splendidly, actually, so no harm done?”
OR
Andrea leaves Emily, who has famously not got over a single thing in her life. Now Andrea's back with a vengeance - and Emily is taking the vengeance part quite literally. Minimal plot, quite a bit of smut from chapter two onward. For the love of God, please heed the tags.

On a day like any other day, the winding course of her path is interrupted by a woman, seemingly falling out of the sky -- and right into her lap.
What does it take to fall in love with somone? Familiarity? Time? Recognition? Rio has none of that and yet, her descent begins the moment their palms touch, and an unbelievable journey across the world unfurls in front of her.
