Summary
It happens really fast and then really slow. He falls, splashes into the ocean, and keeps on falling. He’d instinctively squeezed his eyes shut, but the deeper he gets, the more his chest aches, and he pries them open. It stings. The dark creeps in quickly. He barely catches sight of Donnie swimming towards him before he actually reaches him. As Donnie pulls him up, the dark continues to flood his vision. The lack of oxygen emulates the feeling of a cerebral implosion, pressure squeezing at his brain and skull.
‘Can’t you be any faster?’ is the last thought he has before losing consciousness.

Summary
It was worth the risk—or at least it wasn't any less worth the risk than otherwise—to send Grace up with two experimental drugs in his system, instead of just the one that the other two astronauts got. There were bound to be some kind of side effect to the combination that no one even had the time to hypothesize about.
Wiping a mind that was almost completely shut off wasn't Stratt's best idea. The effects of the coma drug and amnesia drug leave Grace waking up changed. He's a different person now.
