“You like him, Adolin,” Navani said gently. “And we just thought… well, maybe this was a way to help you take the first step. To stop pretending it’s only friendship when it clearly isn’t.”
Adolin choked. “What—?” His voice cracked. “You think I—? That I like Kaladin? As in… like‑like?”
Dalinar frowned. “Don’t you?”
“No!” Adolin half‑shouted. “No, of course not. He’s my friend. My best friend.”
