The kid smiled, showing full rows of teeth. Behind him, like out of an absurd action movie of old, a giant stingray burst out of the blue surface, as large as a 3-storey building. The splash it caused almost washed Lee Sanghyeok and Choi Hyeonjoon away.
"You see," Moon Hyeonjoon proclaimed grandly, "I'm the Lord of Stingrays."

“I mean we won’t be alone,” Minseok laughs wryly, petal-soft fingers messing Minhyung’s hair. Minhyung’s suddenly hyperaware of his touch, trying to commit the feeling to memory, but it’s hard to remember what you don’t remember living without. It’s like desperately trying to commit to memory a life with oxygen.
