The beeping is coming from a screen in the wall; a bright red light flashes and lights up the hallway. On the screen is displayed in light blue font, Connection intercepted. Play message?
Hyunjin nervously laughs, "Interception? Like an SOS?" He looks at Chan and he shrugs back at him. "Play it and see what happens."
Hyunjin reaches up and presses to play the message.
Hyunjin is one of the few remaining scientists left at an otherwise abandoned research station at the limits of chartered space. The station is quiet, most of the staff getting ready to make their final trip home and leave it behind when a distress signal is picked up somewhere out beyond them. A rescue mission brings them to Jeongin, the last surviving member of a crew whose ship is on the opposite side of the galaxy from where it disappeared ages ago.
