Summary
Taking a deep breath, Trinity enters the breakroom and starts making a cup of coffee. Yolanda had been insistent about cutting down her energy drink intake, meaning she’s become partial to other sources of caffeine. As she waits for the pot to brew, she pulls her phone out and scrolls through her notifications.
Most of them are nonsense—a score update from the MLB app, her period tracker telling her she’s ovulating, and a shipping notification for Paul’s special dog food. But there, at the top of her list, are a bunch of messages from her beautiful wife.
Smiling like an idiot, she opens them immediately.
****
Yolanda has a conference in New York and wants to tease her wife. Trinity is more than happy about this and shows Yolanda just how much she loved her photos.

Summary
Trinity looks at Yolanda, who shrugs her shoulders. “We’re gonna have to tell her, babe.”
“Fuck my life,” she mutters, then runs a hand through her hair. “Dennis, block your ears. You’re too young to hear this.”
“I hear it every goddamn night.”
“We were… you know, in bed. And it started hurting.”
Ellis raises an unimpressed eyebrow. “You were… in bed. So you were fucking.”
****
Yolanda gets a little overeager in bed, and a late-night hospital visit makes them the talk of the town.

Summary
Garcia rolls her eyes and acknowledges Santos for the first time since walking in. She flashes her the quickest, smallest smile, but it’s enough to have Trinity’s heartbeat speed up. Lucky she’s not the one hooked up to the monitor. Garcia looks at the patient then immediately looks back up and addresses the nurse. “Ten blade to Dr Santos.”
“What?” Santos and Robby say in unison.
Robby crosses his arms. “If I remember correctly, this didn’t go so well last time.”
****
Trinity aces a procedure at work, and when they get home Yolanda wants to let her know just how well she did.

Summary
Today marks four months since the last time she spoke to Yolanda outside of the hospital.
She would not cry about it. She would not let it affect her work performance. Yolanda probably isn’t, probably doesn’t care at all. There’s no way she’s keeping track of the days. Trinity had broken things off but Yolanda had agreed, which surely is worse. Right?
****
Trinity, Yolanda, Trinity's new puffer, and the desperate way in which they still love each other.

“So you just got a Panama shirt for no reason?”
“How do you know this is Panama?”
“I can name all the world flags, Santos. Come on. It’s very recognisable.”
She raises an eyebrow and tips an imaginary hat. “I’d expect nothing less.”
****
Trinity and Yolanda run into each other at a bar, two weeks after "casual" suddenly became very real. The only issues: neither of them are doing anything about it, and the World Cup Final is on.

Summary
“I did update it,” Yolanda admits, jaw clenched so hard she’d be surprised if she doesn’t wake up with an ache in it tomorrow. “But I changed it back in July.”
“Um, well, it doesn’t say that on your chart,” Emma says, much meeker this time. “It still says in case of emergency, contact Dr. Trinity Santos.”
“Well, it’s wrong.”

Summary
What Santos knows about Garcia: how she likes her coffee, the pattern of moles on her back, what sound she makes when she comes. What Santos doesn't know: her hobbies, if she has siblings, her parents' names. Santos hasn't met any of Garcia's friends. It's possible that none of them know of her existence. When Santos tries to imagine Garcia's place, she can see Garcia's black Hokas on the doormat, but she can't fill in any of the picture frames on the walls.
Or: Santos's turbulent love affair with the concept of Garcia's townhouse.

Summary
Yolanda gave her a look that prompted Trinity to open it. She moved with caution, undoing the zipper and looking in the bag. There was a box, but she didn’t have a good look at it so she pulled it out to see what it was and—
“Yolanda,” Trinity tried to hide the excitement that was embarrassingly creeping from her voice. “Did you—“
”Yes,” She said, looking far too amused with herself. “You said something a few weeks ago, so I thought…this.” She gestured to the box in front of them.
or
Yolanda discovers a new thing about her girlfriend, and decides to buy something that’ll satisfy the both of them.

Summary
“We both knew what we were getting into when we started seeing each other,” Garcia eventually said. She looked over her shoulder, glancing at Santos. “And we both agreed this was just casual, didn’t we?”
She didn’t know if she was reminding herself or reminding Santos about their arrangement.
“I know we did… just wanted to make sure you didn’t mean–”
“I was tired and tipsy and you made me come not even thirty seconds before that. I wasn’t exactly in the sharpest state of mind,” Garcia cut off, not unkindly. “Let’s not make this a big deal.”
Or: The events leading up to their 4th of July shift; Garcia accidentally lets an "I love you" slip and tries (fails) to be casual about it.
