Five weeks of abstinence, four failed appointments, and a frantic sprint to the clinic, and he was finally in the room. He had the sample cup and the magazines and instructions to "take his time, catch his breath, no rush". But the nice clinic nurse didn't have Connor and Kameron counting on him, waiting anxiously on his sperm. And with his luck getting to this point, he probably didn't have long before something went wrong. There was absolutely a rush.
And he couldn't. Get. Hard.

(So far just a letter from Bilbo to Thorin for a larger story idea I had.)
Children. He had children. A son and a daughter. A son alone was a gift, but a daughter was nothing short of a blessing. Especially after a lifetime of thinking he would never have either. He was certain he wouldn't, after so many years alone and unsettled. Even more so after realizing the true nature of his feelings for Bilbo. They were both male, after all. In the unlikely event Bilbo returned his affections, they would never be able to have children. Or so he thought. Who knew the old rumors about Hobbits growing on the vine like pumpkins would prove to be true!

Every night for a week, like a small knife was being use to write on his flesh. And just like with the paper cut on Blaise's thumb, there was no blood. Only the cut and pain.

Eddie and Buck aren't dating and they don't start dating in this, but it would make a fine prelude to a relationship. Warning: I haven't seen every episode of 9-1-1 and I'm not 100% on the characterizations here, but I did my best.

It's been eleven and a half years. Cora is a memory of a memory in Law's heart by now, the only proof of his existence the smile on Law's chest and back and ship and crew. Law had no pictures, no mementos, nothing he could hold outside of himself as a remnant of another person. And the trouble with memory is that it slips between your fingers like sand. It's been five years since Law knew for sure what Cora's voice sounded like.
"Mayday, mayday, mayday," the voice chants, and even though Law couldn't remember until now, he knows. That's Cora's voice. That's what Cora sounded like.
The Sancho Panza is sinking, and the Polar Tang must race twenty-two miles in two hours to save fourteen children and a voice from beyond the grave.

(Or: a character study of an officially dead ex-marine chasing after the only thing that matters to him and fighting his hereditary greed along the way, even though he really doesn't need to.)

Or: Everyone on this side of the Grand Line knows that Trafalgar D. Water Law has devoted more or less his entire life to the memory of a dead man. After 13 years of absence, so does Rosinante... and he's desperate to change that.
