Summary
Patrick laughs so hard he has to lean against the wall. “You’re telling me you bent over in wet swim trunks, and your ass was so big that they ripped?”
“I don’t see anything funny about it.” Jonny huffs, arms crossed while Patrick slides to the floor in a gasping heap.
Alternate summary: Jonny takes a trip to Charleston, South Carolina in the wake of the 2012 playoff ejection. There, he meets Patrick Kane, a marine biologist who has no business looking that hot while pulling plastic from a sea turtle’s mouth.

By daylight there are charts, orders, Red Bull, Abby, the looming dissolution of his marriage, his children, the custody agreement, people saying his name. At night there is Mel and the hum she makes when he so much as nudges her and the fact that he does not know what the fuck he is doing but she wants it, asks for it, responds to it, anyway.

Even worse, the niggling feeling that a few years ago he would’ve texted Kaner in a heartbeat: Come over. If Kaner didn’t answer within a few minutes he would’ve called, ordered Kaner to come over, demanded his favorite food and shakes and foot rubs. Now he still wants Kaner’s company just as much, maybe even wants it more than ever, and he's hesitating; he doesn’t have the guts.

“What are you asking?”
“I think you already know,” Buck says, smugly.
Eddie stares at him. “I think you should assume I don’t.”
Huffing a laugh through his nose, eyes bright, Buck looks at Eddie with his bottom lip caught between his teeth. The moment drags on long enough to make Eddie’s stomach clench with something that feels dangerously like arousal.
“Okay, then. I’ll spell it out for you.” He leans in, just a fraction, close enough that Eddie can see the flecks of darker blue in his eyes. “I’m asking what you’re doing later.”
“Going home,” Eddie deadpans. “With my son. Who attends high school.”
“After that.”
“I don’t—” Eddie shakes his head, a laugh scraping out of him that sounds more panicked than amused. “How old are you? And don’t bullshit me.”
“How old do you think I am?”
Eddie scans his face, searching for any signs of maturity he can cling to. He could pass for mid-twenties.
Eddie needs him to be mid-twenties.
“Twenty-five,” Eddie says. Hopes. Prays, almost, and Eddie hasn’t prayed in years.
“Twenty-one.”
“Oh my god.”
Or,
Eddie gets more than he bargained for when touring colleges with Chris. -

It is a truth universally acknowledged that any group of detectives with information to organize must be in want of consistent recordkeeping that follows a deliberately-outlined formatting guide.
(Or, the Batfam starts a new tradition: incredibly specific, incredibly niche, family-written scientific-journal-style papers. Somehow, in all the ensuing chaos, things tend to work themselves out.)

“HUMAN FOOD". That's what their second fridge is supposed to say, right there, bright red letters, right on the front. To distinguish it, of course, from "NOT HUMAN FOOD" fridge and "DANGER, WILL ROBINSON - GOTHAM SPECIALS ONLY” freezer, both located near the lab benches.
Food fridge is now becoming paper fridge, it seems. Paper is plastered all over. Or taped, maybe. Multiple pieces of paper, edge to edge to edge. So many. His gaze gets caught on the larger, bold text on a sheet near the top of the fridge door.

After a less than auspicious first meeting, Bradley finds himself drawn to Jake Seresin — the park ranger hired now that his Mom was finally retiring — more than expected. With his sharp tongue and bright smile, Bradley can't help but tumble head over heels into his feelings, making him irritated because this wasn't supposed to happen. Bradley wasn't supposed to like the new park ranger.
And how in the hell do you tell someone you're a fucking werewolf?

I have sent two men with Captain Wagner. See to it that they are fed twice a day and stationed where they are most needed.

P.S. I find it imperative that you know their missing tongues were just so when they entered my service. They volunteered for these duties, as British reticence is quite refreshing for them after several years in the barracks.

"Now you're just being a sore loser," Jake crows, accelerating. He never feels more free than when he's in the air like this, soaring through a wide open sky.
Bradshaw keeps up well, never far enough behind for a win to feel guaranteed. It's a fun game, one without consequences. It's the kind of thing that makes Jake feel younger than he is, more free than he's ever actually been. He wishes he could blame the joy coursing through him for why it takes him a second to process that the dust he's been flying through has suddenly gone from the usual tan and brown of dirt in the air to a soft yellow, the cloying sweetness of pollen coating his mouth and throat.
"Fuck, Bradshaw pull up," Jake chokes out as soon as what's happening registers. "Pull the hell up."
"Afraid of a little—oh shit," Bradley coughs.
"Command, Bradshaw and I have just flown through a pocket of Pollen. I repeat, Rooster and Hangman have made contact with Pollen."
Or; Jake and Bradley fly though a cloud of sex pollen. it would be fine if Jake weren't still nursing a broken heart from 5 years ago when Bradley walked out of his life the first time.

Grace makes it two halls before people start to notice the guy in the orange jumpsuit making a break for it.
He hasn’t exactly been training to outrun a stampede of medical personnel, but he has been living in 2G for years and that gives him a surprising advantage over your typical doctor scurrying around in scrubs.
The nurses, though. Man, those guys work for their money.
They mob him as he sprints down the stairwells, crashing into every corner and shaking every locked door until he reaches the bottom floor of the hospital. His heart damn near stops when his hand lands on the handle of the bottom-floor door.
Thank god, it depresses.
(Grace receives news that Eva Stratt has breast cancer from a beetle sent through a wormhole. Luckily for Eva, he now knows the best biologist Erid has to offer, who potentially has a cure. Unluckily for Eva, Grace is hellbent on hand-delivering that cure, even if that means temporarily returning to Earth with a bunch of semi-human Eridians in tow.)

Summary
“Someone could -,” Jonny starts, breaking off when Patrick ducks down to draw Jonny’s lips against his, kissing him fever-hot and wet and desperate. Jonny’d be embarrassed by how hungrily he responds, but he knows Pat’s into it, moaning unashamedly into Jonny’s mouth when he tightens a hand around Pat’s neck. “Someone could see,” he finally gets out, voice rough, when Patrick pulls back, as if Patrick’s supposed to believe that that’s any sort of protest.
Patrick licks his lips, the hint of a smirk playing at the corners of them in that familiar way like when Patrick's got a particularly bad idea on his mind. “Guess you better be quick then, huh?” he says cryptically, waggling his eyebrows at Jonny. Jonny’s a second away from rolling his eyes and asking what he means when Patrick slithers off Jonny’s lap and onto his knees on the floor beneath Jonny’s table and - oh. Oh.
