Summary
"Tell me, Hollander, who is your hall pass?"
In which Ilya asks a question and is completely chill and not at all irrational about Shane's response.

Summary
“The ball has dropped in New York, that means we can all go to bed, right,” Eddie asks hopefully, already resigned to his fate.
“No, dad,” Chris cries, throwing his arms out dramatically as if willing the universe to see what he has to work with. “It’s only nine!”
“Yeah Eddie, it’s only nine,” Buck chimes in, smiling conspiratorially with his son. “Don’t be so lame.”
“Yeah dad, don’t be so lame. You’re not that old.”
Eddie knows when he's outnumbered.

Sometimes when you don't know how to express your feelings in words you let a present do it for you.
Or, Eddie Diaz is trying. Really. He swears.

Summary
“What can I say? I was born defective."
“No,” Eddie says sharply, surprising even himself. Hen and Chim share a look between them as Buck furrows his brow in confusion.
“Hey, Eds,” Buck softens, clearly trying to figure out where he misstepped. This was hardly the first time he has made the joke and that was exactly the problem. “It’s just a joke.”
“And if Chris made that joke? Would it be funny then?”
Or, Eddie is not here for anyone talking poorly about the man he loves, not even Buck himself. Especially not Buck.

Summary
“Who the hell is that?”
There is no time to hear an answer before the object of his question has fired a bullet straight between his eyes. The fight has moved to the next room by the time the bullet slides from his skin and clatters to the floor. Buck winces as he stands.
Why is it always the easy jobs that go sideways?

Summary
It's 2006 and Shane Hollander, in a gay panic, hooks up with his girlfriend Jessica. The consequences of that night – well. It might be the stupidest thing he's ever done. But also, maybe, sort of the best.
Like hell is he going to let it affect his hockey.
Or: Teen dad Shane learns to love his kid. Ilya helps.

Summary
Flight 771 shouldn't have been any different than any of the hundreds of other flights that Shane has taken over the course of his career, aside from the fact that it was taking him towards his lifelong dream—towards the Olympics.
It shouldn't have been any different.
BEND OVER, STAY DOWN.
BEND OVER, STAY DOWN.
BEND OVER, STAY DOWN.
It is.

Summary
Shane is conscious for the entire crash. That doesn’t mean he remembers it.
The brain has a funny way of blocking out trauma like this, of shielding the body from things that would hurt it to remember. But Shane’s ears are still ringing with the sounds of metal crunching and tires screeching, even if there’s a large blank space in his head where the memory should be. The crash was a blur, a blink. Terribly long and then suddenly over, a heavy silence now descending over the eerie stillness.
Or:
A week after returning from their honeymoon, Shane gets in a car accident that threatens the future he and Ilya so painstakingly fought to build.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov has a gift.
He can speak to animals, which has earned him an incredibly successful career as a pet psychic, and far too much information about what people do when they think their pets aren’t watching.
Shane Hollander has a problem.
His cat, Pork, is permanently miserable. After exhausting every sensible option, Shane turns to the supernatural for assistance.
After their first appointment, Pork grows visibly happier - his cat’s found a hobby and renewed sense of purpose for achieving his only goal: to destroy Ilya for good.
