“Jes, don’t push people,” Arson sighs. “Sita, don’t lie on the stage when we’re doing important stuff.” This is what he got for going into theatre instead of something sensible, like medicine. He should have seen the drama coming, but nothing in school could have possibly prepared him for these idiots. Still, they were his idiots and he felt obligated to try and keep some kind of peace around here. He couldn’t let it descend into total anarchy, after all, even though the thought sometimes crossed his mind.

Summary
The world sees people who don't fit into their 'normal' as a threat. If you have feathers or fur, you're a threat. If you have powers or unusual abilities, you're a threat.
And their best idea was to throw all of these 'dangerous' people into a facility to test on them.
