And unfortunately for her, Dennis Whitaker has developed a talent for sniffing out everything she works so hard to keep hidden beneath sharp layers of defenses. So, when Whitaker invites her to come to Amy’s farm with him, Trinity knows it’s because he’s worried about her. That and the fact that he won’t stop telling her he’s worried about her straight to her face.
Trinity swore she’d never have a best friend again.
But unfortunately for her, Dennis Whitaker happened.

She’d known that since long before she had the vocabulary to put it into words. Her girlfriends realizing those things was inevitable, and she should have seen it coming. She would do anything to keep them, even if it ruined her.
