Soap’s shoulders finally relaxed, no longer drawn into a tense line. At least Ghost was finally talking to him.

Rodolfo laughs quietly and shakes his head as he waves goodbye again, “He’s your problem now Hermano!” He grins and claps Alejandro on the shoulder before weaving through the bar with Ghost as they call it an evening.
Soap is still huffing and puffing, watching the stranger peeling off wet napkin from their shiny bald head. He holds up a dry napkin, gets a one finger salute - so he holds up a shot instead and suddenly he’s made a new best friend.
And Alejandro watches, eyes wrinkled with amusement. He swirls his straw three times before sipping on the milky icy remains of his Blue Hawaiian. Old idiosyncrasies of his more wild youth that translated into a little tick he gets teased about only once or twice. Like how he never eats the cherry until it’s soaked in the rum and the rest of the drink is finished.
Or he would have, if Soap hadn’t stolen his cherry immediately after the drink was sat down. In revenge, Alejandro nicked his lime and sucked it dry before the Scot’s first shot.
