Light’s fingers tighten on L’s wrist. Panic is swelling in his throat. He doesn’t want to do any of these stupid traps. This wasn’t how any of this was meant to go. Selling L out was supposed to be enough for Jigsaw to spare him. His nails are pressing crescent moons into L’s skin. He barely even notices.
“I don’t want to go on my own.”
“Light.” L’s voice is gentler than he has ever heard it. “It is the only way to proceed, and we must keep going if we want to get out of here. You can do this.”
Light sniffs. His hold stays firm for another few seconds, before he reluctantly uncurls his fingers. He gives a brief nod. He can do this. Of course he can do this. He is the god of the new world. He can do anything.
That doesn’t mean he wants to.
“See you on the other side.” L gives him an unconvincing smile.

To L’s credit, he didn’t immediately fold, instead rattling off a very lengthy list of reasons why they can’t and shouldn’t engage in any inappropriate undertakings with each other. But after going back and forth for an indiscernible amount of time, L began to crack under the weight of Light’s stubborn seduction.
“Why don’t you trust me? I’m risking myself just as much by simply approaching you,” Light argued, and judging by the way L leaned into his hand, reluctantly shifting his gaze to the floor, he’d say he had done a pretty damn good job at it.
... In which Professor Lawliet tries to resist the boyish charms of his favorite student narcissist and fails.

“I am not the monster you so desperately want me to be, L,” Light muttered, with the calm of a congressman two points down in an election.
“If you are so certain of your own divinity,” L replied flatly, completely unbothered, “then why does my opinion weigh so heavily on you, Kira?”
Light convinced himself that he hadn't captured L out of a monstrous whim, but rather out of divine kindness. He tended to his cell, provided him with proper clothing, and fed him well. However, the former detective was far from pleased with his new life, refusing to speak to the person with whom he had shared such intimacy for so many months.
Light couldn't take it anymore—five months without so much as a single touch were driving him insane. One evening, inside the golden cage Light built, things began to shift. Would Light finally be able to break him?
