Heather was going to murder Chris.
If his stupid show was gonna start flushing contestants off to who-knows-where, the least it could do was spit them out somewhere nice. Somewhere with less conveniently placed metal poles and inconveniently placed polar bears.
It took that old fisherman guy a whole hour to chase off that dumb bear, and another to help get rid of that stupid pole. By the time he finally dragged her to the nearest “town”—a word she used loosely for what actually was five sad buildings squished together—Heather was soaked, freezing, and in desperate need of a spa day.
Not that she was getting one out here.
At least the stupid bear hadn’t messed with her hair.

Being stranded in the Yukon sucks. Especially when there’s nowhere decent to stay, you run straight into your bitter rival, and you’re forced to face the mess you left in the past. But maybe—just maybe—Heather won’t end up hating it as much as she thinks she does.
Alejandro, on the other hand, is just happy to see Heather again.

They all must be eliminated. Heather’s eyes drop to the glittering thread connecting them, and she swallows the lump in her throat. Her insides are still sloshing dangerously, anxious like the ocean in a storm.
“And this?” She braves asking. There's no need to clarify what this is.
Alejandro stares at it too. “This means we’re soulmates.”

Summary
The series of events that led to Franky Franklin getting an invitation to Camilla and Dominic's wedding were convoluted, confusing, and borderline nonsensical. But, he supposed, that was the way of the world. Things rarely made sense, and trying to make them make sense was enough to drive a man crazy, so Franky rarely bothered.
Two years after the end of Operation Strix, Loid and Yor are divorced, co-parenting, and not really speaking. That is, until Camilla and Dominic’s wedding— where Yor is maid of honour and, for whatever reason, Loid is a groomsman —brings them under one roof for a two week wedding extravaganza at a beautiful lakeside... with no exit in sight.
Now... Franky Franklin is not an investigator. He is an informant. His business is documents, not people but two weeks is a long time, he has been given a verygood seat to observe his two favourite people, and he has a working theory about Loid and Yor.
But the trouble with theories is that they can be disproved.
