Summary
Gem gasps, coming back to awareness on the floor of her cottage, blinking away tears. For a moment there's just confusion-pain-disorientation, trying to think through the pounding headache left over from whatever that was. But there's no flutter of emotions from another mind washing over her, no comforting warmth to soothe the pain.
She reaches for the packbond, but there's only a feeling of dissonance, of void where there should be substance.
Distress distress-what happened where are you, she calls, my pack-missing-please come back.
But no one answers.

Shelby sighs, shaking her head. “Oh come on, I’ll show you the meat aisle! It could really help with your whole ‘trying to be a vegan vampire’ thing. Or at least as vegan as a vampire can be, that is.”
