“Is so boring, Hollander. Of course you want to know this. But Ilya Rozanov and Boston Raiders exist in this world, so crystal ball says, so sad, but no.”
“Fuck off. What are these questions even for, anyway? Are you interviewing me for something? Wouldn’t you have to, like, tell me if you were?”
Ilya is quick to assure Hollander before his paranoia takes him right out of this phone call. “It is not for interview, Hollander. I am just wondering. Answer the question.”
“And I can’t say that I would want to know whether I win the Cup.”
“Yes, other than that.”
“I guess… I guess I would want to know, like, am I happy?”

Of course, the league invites Dallas Kent to this year’s All-Star game. Carter’s been expecting it since that fucker was acquitted. The announcement is full of all the bullshit the league says every time another player rapes women and gets away with it - “fine young man with a promising career”, “mistakes were made”, “cleared by a court of law”, “just wants to focus on playing hockey”. It’s the same shit the league says every time a player rapes someone, or beats up his wife, or rapes and beats a woman. It’s been going on for years so they’ve had a lot of practice. Carter’s heard it so many times he can recite it from memory.
It makes the list of who else is invited to this year’s All-Star game even worse. The roster of players at All-Stars usually looks like the rest of the league - white and straight. Not this year though.
