Gale shouldn’t be entirely startled to find a vampire standing in the middle of his foyer, wet clothes dripping on the carpet and hands cupped around something small and equally soaked through.
He shouldn’t be, and yet…
“I found her in a crate,” Astarion says, shifting his grip to reveal a tiny slip of a kitten, sodden and shivering. His expression is bemused as he looks down at the little creature.
For all Astarion’s readiness to stab those deserving and undeserving alike, cruelty to animals bewilders him. Something Gale finds endlessly charming, not that he would ever say as much.

Gale likes Astarion. Astarion likes cats. Gale might have made a slight miscalculation somewhere.

“I,” Astarion sniffs, “came here to save the illustrious and noble city of Waterdeep. Anticipating a generous reward, naturally.”
“You're here for me,” Gale insists, still grinning. His eyes are shining.
He looks so fucking radiant, it makes Astarion want to stab something.
In which Astarion saves the day, and Waterdeep, and Gale. That last one is completely incidental, you understand. And no, he is not lying to himself, darling. That you would even suggest such a thing.

Summary
Derek has never liked his uncle after the fire and all the messes after that. And he sure didn't like when Stiles and Peter started getting closer. Derek feels some sort of big brotherly feelings towards the human, so he feels like it's mission to look after Stiles. He watches from the side as their relationship keeps changing, and Derek one day learns that Stiles is sharing his location with Peter. Okey, it could be weird, even controlling coming from Peter, but the truth behind is something Derek never imagined. He comes to learn the truth behind it when he's on patrol with Stiles, and Stiles' phone dies.

It's Monopoly time," Scott says without looking up from Mass Effect.
"Monopoly time?" Derek asks.
"Safeway and all their sister stores like Albertsons are doing their Monopoly game," Stiles says. He grabs his backpack and rifles through it before pulling out his Safeway Monopoly board with little Monopoly pieces stuck to it.
Isaac snorts from next to Scott.
"You're not going to win anything," he says.
"Oh ye of little faith," Stiles says. "I already won a $50 gift card."
"What, seriously?" Isaac asks.
"Stiles wins something every year," Scott says, groaning as his character dies. "Last year he won a $5,000 college scholarship."
"Fingers crossed for the vacation," Stiles says.
