“What I was trying to say was, we’re rehearsing because we’re starting a band.”
Baku groans at the same time as Juntae’s face lights up with excitement, he looks over to his brother for an answer “Really?!”

He looks up, and through a gap in the crowd, he sees Suho. He’s smiling at Yeongyi absentmindedly, glancing down at his phone. Sieun drinks in the way the shifting lights caress his features, the familiar slope of his nose and the curve of his lips.
Please, Suho. Look at me.
“I’m fine,” he says to Hyunwoo.
Hyunwoo smiles and steps closer, and now he’s too close. Sieun can smell his deodorant, woody and heavy, and it takes everything in him not to step away.
“Is it okay if I...” Hyunwoo raises a hand to Sieun’s waist, not touching, just hovering, asking for permission.
Sieun swallows and nods.
In which Suho makes a new friend, and Sieun is definitely not jealous.

He missed three years of his own life. Yeon Sieun lived every single one of them.
Now Suho has a body he no longer recognizes and a life that moved on without him. Sieun has new friends, old scars, and a phone full of things he only knew how to say when Suho couldn't answer.
Getting each other back should be the easy part.
It isn't.
Because somewhere between recovering what they lost and building something new, being best friends stops explaining everything.
or, the one where suho wakes up, sieun stays, and two best friends who have already survived losing each other have to figure out what happens when neither of them is going anywhere.
