Summary
Sirius arrives at the Potters' in time to save Lily and Harry, but not James. Voldemort is still defeated, but Sirius and Remus don't quite get their happy ending. They're broken up still, but can't seem to keep away from each other and properly move on, either. Every time Remus thinks they might have, they sleep together and go back to square one.

"Oh, come off it," Sirius scoffs, and rolls his eyes while serving himself some more food. He doesn't want to look at Remus and see his pretend-shock.
"I don't— I mean I—" Remus splutters. "What does that have to do with anything?"
"You could split someone in half with that thing," Sirius says, looking back at his friend, unimpressed. "You need me to explain to you why it's a waste to have a player like that and never have them on the pitch?"

Summary
“I just can’t concentrate,” White elaborates, then looks Remus over meaningfully. Remus can just feel his face heat up, so turns around to hurry over to his desk. He’ll be safe, hiding behind his laptop screen.
“Like that’s gonna help,” White drawls way, way too loud for Remus’ liking. Before he can stop himself, Remus’ body betrays him and he tilts his head to glance at White. White is leaning back a little now, and making absolutely no effort to hide the fact that he’s staring at Remus’ ass again.
“Jesus Christ,” Remus hisses under his breath, and swiftly makes his way to his seat.

In which James and Sirius are undercover at an American university as James Johnson and Sam White, and Sirius is much too interested in the TA. Remus, for his part, wishes this investigation could be over yesterday so he can go back to his normal, non-cop-TV-show life.

"I thought James was your brother."
"You certainly can’t fuck James either! What is wrong with you?" Sirius sounds properly irritated now, scowling at Remus. Remus who, unbothered by Sirius' righteous scolding, just keeps looking at Regulus. The snake is sitting across the room from them, pretending to listen to Kingsley's update about the Ministry. It's only his second Order meeting and he's already ruined the entire experience for Sirius. Unbelievable.
