    “That isn’t what I mean,” Shane says gently, brushing his thumb over Ilya’s cheekbone. Ilya’s eyes flutter shut, as if being treated so tenderly causes him physical pain. Like he isn’t used to it. “You’re hurting. I don’t want you to regret it in the morning.” 

    Ilya’s eyes open. “I have never regretted a moment with you.”

    i was extremely pleased when they decided to skip sex scene in the show, it almost told us that from now on the boys have a lot more intimacy and privacy, and their feelings are not for us to gaze upon but this fic slightly changed my mind -- or rather, just gave an extra scene to think about, since i have good visual imagination
    the sex was very raw and personal, something that have officially crossed the boys' line into relationship territory, and after all this: "Good night, Shane", "Good night, Ilya" just feels like warm honey. the boys are fucked-, talked-, and passioned-out, they are glowing and warm with each other, there is no worry currently present. beautiful

    this story was recommended out of every corner of the internet, pdf passed around like some sort of dying book that needs to be saved and remembered, and boy do i understand them. i will admit: the premise itself made me quite reluctant to read it, because I do not want to read about grief, it is one of those emotions I would not seek out voluntarily but at some point after hearing about it again and again I gave up and decided to give it a chance, even though i knew it will probably make me miserable.
    and I am so thankful that people were unabashedly praising it and it got into my hands again and again until I've decided to finally seal my fate. beautiful writing, like a spider's silk on a tree, just sticking to your brain and leaves this slight nausea feeling when you touch it. exceptional portrayal of grief and coming home to yourself — it did make me miserable but I'm okay now. and the whole story is just so... dreamy and sad and hopeful, maybe it did happen in limbo.

    p.s. I loved the subtle references to the universe of eames and his arthur, made my ears perk up as if a dog hearing their favorite words. thank you, author, I am on pilgrimage to see the rest of your works and bookmarks!

    обожаю, когда совершенно случайно попадается что-то, что захватывает твое внимание на протяжение всего чтива. ни убивать, ни прибавить потрясающая история с глубоко прописанной вселенной; я забыла, что они хоккеисты, забыла, что не найду другого фика, где они будут работать в больнице. а сколько стекла съедаешь, пока читаешь, просто кошмар (спасибо, хочу еще).
    если саммари заинтересовало с первых же слов, или все еще думаешь, сможешь ли ты осилить такую длинную историю — обещаю, сможешь, беги читать. история поднимет тебя на самую высокую волну и будет катать на своем горбе до самого конца, пока не дойдешь до финала.
