Summary
Ace stares upwards for a while, trying to understand what the hell he’s looking at. Gramps has never said shit about what the rest of the world’s like, but Dadan scoffs sometimes that the other Blues are weird, and the Grand Line is even weirder, so maybe this is like, some kind of normal bird for wherever the hell they are?
Right on the heels of that muddled thought is the realization the flaming bird is getting closer, circling their battered raft and descending with each loop.
Ace’s heartbeat speeds up. He braces his hands against the boards, heaves himself as much out of the water as he dares, and starts to shout: “Hey! Shoo! Go away, you don’t get to eat them! Go on, fly away you big buzzard!”
There’s a startled squawk, and the bird does back off a bit. But then it just hovers midair, trailing bits of fire as its wings flap. Ace would swear the stupid thing’s head tilts to one side, studying him, probably trying to figure out if he’s a real threat or not.
So he bares his teeth just like the jungle tigers and snarls, “You are not eating my brothers!”

Sabo never sail out to sea. His brothers never came for him. He remained in his birdcage, yearning for dreams long gone. He’s the disgraced first son, the shamed heir, the greatest failure of Outlook III.
And Marco, well, there's no fucking way he's going to stand by and watch as someone was being hit by his own father, noble or not. Besides, his brothers have teased him quite often about his bleeding heart. That, and he has always wanted to steal a noble.

Well. It's been a really nice dream.
It’s strange to think about it, but he had a lot of fun playing with these boys. He truly felt like a child. Perhaps, it's a small gift to replace his forgotten childhood memories.
A dream that feels so real it’s almost convincing. As if he truly spent the day running through the forest, hunting crocodiles for food and splashing through the river with two imaginary boys — friends.
Ace and Luffy, huh.

Summary
Soundwave’s surveillance target has resisted all methods of observation, remaining a frustrating mystery. He is only aware of the mech he’s tracking by the blank marks on his sensornets, on his cameras, the silence on normally active audio frequencies. Whoever it is he’s tracking is only identifiable by the ripples they leave behind, some of them explosive.
Someone's been tampering with Soundwave's less than legal business operations. He decides to investigate personally.
