“You?” Miranda asked, eyes slightly widened. “You’re a teacher?”
“Yes, I teach the fifth grade here at Dalton.”
Miranda let out a scoff before taking a glance down her frame. Images of all of the 20-something year old girls Miranda’d had to endure over the last few years, courtesy of her ex-husband’s salacious whims, flashed across her eyes. Bimbos, air-heads, stupid - every one of them. The woman - no, girl - now sitting in front of her could barely coordinate the various textures and patterns within a single outfit. How on Earth was she to believe this Andy was qualified to teach at the school or provide advanced instruction to her nine-year-old daughters?
And what kind of a name was Andy?

Andrea Sachs is the beloved 5th grade teacher at The Dalton School in New York City, where Miranda Priestly’s twins attend. When Miranda wants the especially studious twins to skip a grade, Ms. Sachs offers to give them advanced lessons to fill in the gaps.

Summary
Trained ballet dancer, Andy Sachs, teaches dance classes to make enough money to put her through grad-school. Caroline and Cassidy Priestly are enrolled in Andy's Saturday morning class amidst their parents tumultuous divorce.
Excerpt from chapter 1, below:
“I know today’s practice was tough”, Andy started, softly and sincerely.
“Yeah, for some”, Cassidy snickered but quickly sobered up when Andy fixed her with her teacher’s stare.
“But you guys have a real advantage, y’know?”, the young woman said, unlacing her shoes in preparation to change.
“How so?”, Caroline asked with a tilt of her head and a pull of her lips to one side. Andy knew that the two girls must be the same age, but she couldn’t help but wager that Caroline was the younger one, even if by a technicality, and if not in reality, then in spirit.
“Well, you guys have the bonus of having one of your classmates with you at home to practice and cheer you on. That’s pretty cool”, Andy said shrugging and pulling her other set of shoes out of the bag, “I wish I had that when I was going to lessons”.
